PARKTON, N.C. (WNCN) — One southbound lane has reopened after all lanes lanes heading south on part of Interstate 95 in Robeson County south of Fayetteville were closed earlier Thursday morning.
The cause of the closure is due to a vehicle crash, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
NCDOT’s live traffic map shows the lanes are shut at mile marker 33 near U.S. 301 near Parkton, with traffic backed up all the way to the Cumberland County line.
Impact to traffic is expected to be high, and the road is estimated to be shut until 9 a.m.
Drivers in the area are being detoured around the incident. Motorists are advised to use Exit 41 to U.S. 301 South then back to I-95 South.
There are no details yet on the crash that caused the closure.
