(FOX40.COM) — With a moderate heat advisory issued in the Sacramento Valley, Northern California city officials are opening cooling centers for those seeking relief from the warm weather.

City of Sacramento

Sacramento city officials will operate its cooling center at the Outreach and Engagement Center from 10 a.m. on Saturday to 8 a.m. on Sunday. The cooling center is located on 3615 Auburn Boulevard and will accept pets and have storage available for personal belongings.

Officials said the site will offer water to guests and areas where they could charge their phones.

People could also choose to cool off at one of the Sacramento Public Library locations or city-operated community centers.

City of Stockton

For those looking to escape the heat in Stockton, they can go to one of the city’s community centers to cool off.

Here is where Stockton residents can find relief from the heat:

•Arnold Rue Community Center — 5758 Lorraine Avenue
•Stribley Community Center — 1760 East Sonora Street
•Van Buskirk Community Center — 734 Houston Avenue
•Seifert Community Center — 128 West Benjamin Holt Drive

The cooling centers will only be operated during regular business hours, which will be open Saturday from 9 p.m. to 5 p.m. and will be closed on Sunday.
