Prince George’s County and Montgomery County firefighters responded to the fire.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — A man died at a local hospital after a house fire in College Park early Saturday morning. 

According to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service Spokesperson Pete Piringer, crews from the Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department and the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service responded to a fire at a single-family home in the College Park Woods neighborhood on DePauw Place just after 5 a.m. 

One adult man was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries, where he later died. A second person was transported with minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is not known and currently remains under investigation.
