A New Phase for NoDa Brewing’s OG Taproom – Charlotte Magazine

Brewery will reserve its space on North Davidson Street for private events
NoDa Brewing Co., which reopened its original taproom at North Davidson and East 26th streets in 2019 after a three-year closing, announced Monday that it plans to reserve the “OG Taproom” for private events as of June 28.
“The OG is a special place filled with memories and experiences,” Jacob Virgil, NoDa Brewing’s director of strategic development, said in a release. “This transition will better position the OG to continue that legacy while allowing us to focus on evolving our flagship taproom.” That taproom, a 32,000-square-foot space at North Tryon and West 32nd streets, opened in 2015 and recently underwent a renovation to its brewing and cooling areas.
NoDa Brewing, one of Charlotte’s most venerable and respected craft breweries, opened in an old textile processing shop in October 2011. For a few years, it shared an alley with Birdsong Brewing Co., now in its own expanded facility up the street in the Belmont neighborhood.
Limited parking and planned development forced founders Suzie and Todd Ford and co-owner Chad Henderson to temporarily close the OG taproom in 2016. It reopened three years later, but only on weekends. With continued lack of parking and space and limited hours, it made more business sense to designate the old building as an events space, said Kelly Huyler, the brewery’s marketing director.
NoDa Brewing plans “an evening of memories, camaraderie, and appreciation” on the old taproom’s final day, Friday, June 28. The event will be open to the public.
