SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — Two firefighters were taken to a hospital after battling a blaze in Sacramento County Tuesday afternoon.

The Cosumnes Fire Department said their crews, along with others, responded around 2:44 p.m. for a wildland fire south of Delta Shores and east of Interstate 5. Officials said it was on Sacramento Regional Wastewater Treatment land.

Crews were able to contain the fire in a little less than an hour, but stayed on scene for mop up.

Two firefighters were treated at hospitals, one for heat-related illness and the other for an injury to his hand.

No civilians were hurt and there was no damage to private property.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
