(KRON) — Crews are responding to three separate fires Sunday afternoon in San Jose, the San Jose Fire Department said on X. The fires are located near Quimby Road and Sand Point Drive in East San Jose.

Multiple homes across two residential blocks have been affected by the fire, an SJFD spokesperson told KRON4. A total of six buildings were damaged; at least two of them were destroyed.

Occupants of the homes successfully evacuated as no injuries were reported from the fire, according to SJPD. The fire started in the garage of one of the homes in the neighborhood.

Officials said hot temperatures and high winds in San Jose contributed to the blaze spreading to multiple homes. SJPD posted photos (below) of the department’s response to the fire.

Crews arrived at the scene around 4:30 p.m.

Traffic is impacted by the fires, and the public is asked to avoid the area. Quimby Road and Sand Point Drive is located about one mile south of Cunningham Lake.

Fire crews will remain on scene for at least the next several hours.

This story will be updated. KRON4 has sent a crew to the scene. Stay tuned for updates.
