Interior Designer: Johanna G Seldes, ASID of IDC / Interior Design Consulting

Builder: Jon Greaves, Greaves Construction

Photographer: Grey Street Studios

In this Lutz remodeled kitchen, Johanna G Seldes of IDC Interior Design Consulting orchestrates a symphony of contrasts and contemporary elegance. The space features a harmonious interplay of whites and darker tones, with custom textured-finish cabinets and sleek Blanco Sibera Quartz countertops. Touch-open and soft-close mechanisms eliminate the need for hardware and drawer pulls, enhancing the clean, modern aesthetic.

Featuring two islands – one for general cooking and another for art display – the countertops boast a distinctive partial waterfall design. Beneath, specialized LED lighting illuminates the cabinet texture and flooring, turning the islands into mesmerizing focal points. The use of Thermador appliances, celebrated for their innovation and style, earned IDC a National Honorable Mention in the brand’s 2022 Kitchen Design Challenge. Every detail, from hidden pantry doors to meticulously curated lighting, reflects the art-loving homeowners’ lifestyle and aesthetic preferences in this culinary haven.

A white background paired with dark gray and black textured cabinetry from C&C Cabinets helped create a high contrast setting.

Sculpted metal and glass light fixtures by Lightstyle of Tampa hover over the islands.
No external hardware and the use of touch-latch, soft-close cabinetry helped create smooth lines and hide additional storage.
Specialty lighting designs were placed in the partial waterfall countertops to highlight the cabinets, trim and flooring
A double island creates different stations – the front for entertaining and a back island for cooking.
