8 injured in airboat crash in Kissimmee

Eight people were transported to area hospitals after an airboat crash, according to Osceola County Fire Rescue. It happened Friday morning at Lake Tohopekaliga, near Partin Triangle Park in Kissimmee.Ten people were on board when the boat hit a sandbar, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said.All passengers and crew have been accounted for, according to fire rescue.”All parties had life-saving devices and called 911 to state what happened, and needed help getting their airboat off the sandbar,” the sheriff’s office said. Two minor injuries were reported. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and U.S. Coast Guard also responded.
