This morning

The last round of showers and a few thunderstorms will move across the area Thursday morning. Most of the severe weather will be south of the Charlotte area.

This afternoon

The opening day of the Wells Fargo Championship will be much better than the severe storms that moved across the area Wednesday. There’s a slight chance of a few storms this afternoon, with highs in the upper 70s to around 80.  Look for some patchy fog overnight with lows in the mid-60s.

Friday

There’s a slight chance of showers and a stray thunderstorm in the afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 70s to low 80s.  Friday night will be clear and cool, with lows in the low 50s with winds around 10-15 mph.

Mother’s Day weekend

Saturday will be a sunny and very pleasant day. Highs will be in the mid-70s. Temperatures overnight will again fall into the low 50s. Skies Saturday night should be mostly clear with lows in the low 50s.

Sunday should be a perfect Mother’s Day for the area. During the afternoon, highs will be in the mid-to-upper 70s.
