Prince Georges County Police responded to shooting that led to barricade

Authorities are investigating the incident. One adult male is believed to be inside a single-family house.

WASHINGTON — The Prince Georges Police Department are investigating a shooting that turned into a barricade close to Adelphi, Maryland.

The shooting started around 10:15 a.m. at 2100 block of Beechwood Road around 10:15 a.m., Police said.

Resident on Benchwood Road and its proximities are advised to shelter in place for safety reasons. 

Police is on the scene and will continue to provide details. 

As of now, traffic is affected as Police closed the following rooads:

Banning Pl / 22nd Ave Charleston Pl / Drexel St Charleston Pl / 21st Beechwood Rd / Calvert St
