A Johnston County school bus coming from Four Oaks Middle School was involved in a crash Friday afternoon, according to the Highway Patrol.
Fourteen students and a bus driver were involved in the crash near the intersection of Webb Mill Road and Crocker Lane.
Sky 5 captured the scene with over a dozen emergency vehicles and police on site.
The Highway Patrol says:
“The driver of the white van had gotten in a domestic dispute with someone in a home. As the driver pulled out of the driveway, he clipped the school bus, causing it to go into the ditch, and his van rolled on the side. The driver of the van jumped out and ran. There are several students from the bus accident going to Wake Med and several going to UNC Smithfield.”
In the aftermath of the crash, the Sheriff’s office sent out a K9 unit to search the area.
While they have identified a suspect and obtained warrants for their arrest, the suspect has not been found yet.
Eight students were transported to the hospital for evaluation.
However the Sheriff’s department reports no life-threatening injuries.
Families were able to pick up students at Four Oaks Middle School.
This is developing story.
