STOCKTON, Calif. — One man is dead, and another is injured after a shooting Sunday morning in Stockton.

Just after 9:30 a.m., officers responded to the 600 block of El Camino Avenue for a reported shooting, according to Stockton Police Department spokesman Officer David Scott.

Upon arrival, officers located two men who had been shot, Scott said. Medical response transported both victims, a 19-year-old man and a 70-year-old man, to the hospital. The 19-year-old man was later pronounced dead, Scott said, but the 70-year-old had non-life-threatening injuries.

A 35-year-old suspect was detained at the scene, police said. He was only described as a man.

Homicide detectives are still investigating the incident. Police said there was an “unknown disturbance” involving all three people, however it’s not clear what happened between the disturbance and the shooting.
