Olympic Bronze Medalist Kieran Smith was in Raleigh on Saturday, hosting a swim clinic at the Pullen Aquatic Center for the Marlins of Raleigh.

Kieran won Bronze in the 400 Freestyle at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and is the current American Record Holder in the 500 yards Freestyle. Kieran is a leading contender to make the 2024 US Olympic Team in the 200 Free, 400 Free and 800 Freestyle Relay when the Olympic Trials are held in Lucas Oil Stadium June 15-23, 2024. He has represented the US multiple times since 2017 beginning with the World Jr. Championships and including numerous US World Championship teams.

Over 100 Marlins Of Raleigh Swimmers participated in the clinic, with each being rewarded for raising over $100 in MOR’s annual Swim-A-Thon fundraiser held in February.

Hudson DeGroote, one of the Marlins of Raleigh and a senior at South Garner High School, will also compete at the 2024 US Olympic Trials along with other Marlin alums Justin Ress and Abby Arens.

“We are thankful Speedo’s sponsorship of this clinic. Kieran is one of the top swimmers in the world and is a great role model for these young swimmers,” said Marlins head coach Paul Silver. “We are sure his presence will inspire other swimmers to dream of going to the Olympics one day.”
