USF’s Chris Youngblood enters transfer portal

TAMPA, Fla. — A key cog in USF men’s basketball’s turnaround season appears to be headed elsewhere.

Starting guard Chris Youngblood has entered the transfer portal.

A 6-foot-4 senior, Youngblood helped lead USF to a 25-8 season, the American Athletic Conference regular season championship and a win in the National Invitational Tournament.

Youngblood averaged 15 points and 2 assists per game this season.

USF coach Amir Abdur Rahim confirmed the Youngblood move on Monday night.

The news that Youngblood, the reigning AAC Co-Player of the Year, has entered the portal comes just three days after guard Selton Miguel, the league’s Sixth Man of the Year, declared for the NBA draft and also entered the transfer portal.
