(FOX40.COM) — Slim and Husky’s officially closed its Sacramento location Sunday, according to a sign posted on the eatery’s door.
Sacramento was the only California location for the Tennessee-based pizzeria, which shut down after serving customers in the Oak Park neighborhood for over three and a half years.
On the posted sign, management said the closure is due to “several factors impacting the restaurant’s overall operation and financial health.”
“We have decided to close our Sacramento location. As we move towards our next phase of growth we are focusing on our higher performing stores and introduction to larger markets within the Southeast, Midwest and Mid-Atlantic Regions,” Co-founder Clint Gray told FOX40.com in an email. “We loved our time in the Oak Park Community and hope to revisit expansion on the west coast when the time is right.”
The Slim and Husky’s Sacramento eatery was located at 3413 Broadway, an area which also includes Faria Bakery, The Butterscotch Den and Fixins Soul Kitchen.
Menu items include pizza with names inspired by hip-hop classic songs such as “I Got 5 on It,” and “California Love.”
Slim and Husky’s operates eight other locations in Tennessee and three others in Atlanta, according to the business’ website.
