It’s been quite the year for the Sachse girls athletic programs. The volleyball, basketball and soccer seasons all saw the Lady Mustangs bring home district titles, and the girls track and field team followed suit on Wednesday, April 3 and Thursday, April 4.

The girls scored 172 points to win the event, besting Wylie East (148 points) and Wylie (93). Meanwhile, the boys team scored 62 points, finishing sixth in the standings. Wylie East (166 points) won the boys title, while Wylie (107) took second and North Garland (101 points) placed third.

The following Mustangs also qualified to compete in the Regional Meet next week in Mesquite.

1600-meter relay (Kyla George, Cameryn Fair, Kennedy Wesley, Cate Tempelmeyer)

Kaelynn Sims (High Jump)

Kyla George (Pole Vault)

Marie Whipple (Pole Vault)

Lucero Guiterrez (Pole Vault)

Favor Anyanwu (Shot Put, Discus)

Boys:

Kamryn Harry (200-meter dash)

Ethan Massey (800-meter dash)

400-meter relay (Micah Hill, Kamryn Harry, Kendrick Hanks, Kaliq Lockett)

800-meter relay (Brendon Haygood, Kamryn Harry, Kendrick Hanks, Kaliq Lockett)

Ngozi Ofili (High Jump)

For those that are competing in the regional meet next week, they will travel to Hanby Stadium. The event will take place on Thursday, April 11.
