(FOX40.COM) — Negotiators with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office are working to get a man to surrender after he allegedly stabbed his roommate and barricaded himself in an apartment, according to sheriff’s officials.

Sheriff’s officials received the call around 7 a.m. and the injuries to the victim were not life-threatening, officials said.

SWAT and negotiators have made contact with the suspect over the phone and are working to have him surrender.

The man is barricaded in an apartment alone near Scotland Drive and Caber Way, according to the sheriff’s office.

This is a developing story.
