[ad_1]
A Portland Police Bureau (PPB) spokesperson told KGW at 8:31 a.m. that officers had responded to the area and were “trying to take an individual into custody” but he was not being cooperative, and that “additional resources” were heading to the scene. About half an hour later, at 8:57 a.m., a PPB spokesperson reported that the subject had been taken into custody “peacefully.”
An officers at the scene told a KGW reporter that Tuesday morning’s police activity was connected to a shooting at the same location Monday night.
At 8:37 a.m., PPB said “a number of streets” were closed in the area. Shortly after 9 a.m., an officer on scene told KGW that streets were starting to reopen.
TriMet reported at 8:37 a.m. that the MAX Green Line was not serving the Southeast Division Street station in both directions because of the police activity and that riders should board Green Line trains at Southeast Main Street or Southeast Powell Boulevard instead.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
