Allisha Watts Murder: Bond To Remain At $1M For Boyfriend Of Watts Anticipating Trial – WCCB Charlotte’s CW

James Dunmore, the man charged with of murder of Allisha Watts, will remain in Montgomery County jail under a $1 million secured bond,  CNN stated on Monday. The news comes says after Watts’ autopsy report was release to the public.

Dunmore made an appearance in court on Monday where his defense attorney, Laura Baker argued, that Dumore should have an unsecured bond so he can await his trial out of jail, since the autopsy report was ruled ‘undetermined’.

 Baker said, “The state’s own expert can’t even check a homicide box … Dunmore shouldn’t have to sit in custody while the state tries to cobble together a homicide case.”

Despite Baker’s efforts, Judge Taylor Brown kept Dumore’s bond at $1 million.

In response, Assist Distrivt Attorney Arther Dinadio stated Dunmore, who has a history of convictions for domestic violence, is alleged to have left watt’s body in a soggy pond bottom for months.

“What I can tell you, judge, is that Dunmore tried to make a body disappear — he is a man with a history of violence,” Dinadio said.

 

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The office Of The Chief Medical Examiner released the autopsy report of Allisha Watts’ On Wednesday.

The report comes seven months after her body was found in a forrest in Montgomery County.

Watts’, who resided in Moore County at the time was last seen alive July 2023 after leaving home with her boyfriend, James Dunmore, in Charlotte.

After not hearing from Watt’s, her family members filed a missing persons report.

Following the report, Dunmore was found unresponsive in Watt’s car in Anson County. He was arrested and charged with murder when her body was discovered.

The autopsy reported missing and or detached bones along with a few other minimal injuries. The cause of death was ruled undetermined with officials releasing the following statement:

“Given the scene findings, autopsy findings, and toxicological findings, as well as the impossibility of ruling out other competing causes of death because of skeletonization, the cause and manner of death in this case are best left as undetermined.”
