Police: 2-year-old hit, killed by truck in Woodland

Police say the child was hit around 3:46 p.m. in the 300 block of West Street. The child was taken to the hospital by family but was later pronounced dead.
WOODLAND, Calif. — A 2-year-old died after being hit by a car Saturday afternoon, according to the Woodland Police Department.
Police say the child was hit around 3:46 p.m. in the 300 block of West Street. The child was taken to the hospital by family but was later pronounced dead.
A black Dodge truck was found at the scene with a 3-year-old inside. It’s unclear if the child was alone in the car. A man “associated with the truck” was eventually found by police and an investigation is underway, according to officials.
Police have not released information on how the child was hit, if there are any arrests or when the area will reopen. They’re asking anyone with information about the crash to call them at 530-661-7800.
