CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WJZY) — Fans of the Netflix hit series “Love is Blind” packed into Lost and Found in Charlotte Wednesday night for a reunion episode watch party.
“There’s definitely a lot of drama going on so I’m super excited to be here tonight and see what’s going to happen for this reunion,” said a fan of the show, Kayla Stephens.
The bar was at the center of one of the couples’ biggest fights. Lost and Found employees said they couldn’t pass up the opportunity to capitalize on the show’s success.
The sixth season of “Love is Blind” showcases the Queen City and its cast of Charlotteans.
“I just watched it because it was local,” said first-time viewer Palmer Brock. “I thought it was really exciting to see them filming in locations around our hometown.”
Social media coach and founder of “The Dean’s List,” Meredith Dean, said she’s now working with some of the people who appeared on the show. She said one of her favorite aspects of the series is how it highlights the businesses and restaurants of the different host cities each season.
“So many people go, ‘Oh, I’ve been there for dinner’ or ‘I’ve been there on a date,’ and it made people feel like they were almost a part of the show,” Dean said.
Dean said transitioning from a reality show to reality can be very difficult.
“Number one is taking care of your mental health. That is first and foremost the most important because you’re going to start having all these people commenting on things, assuming things, and they know nothing about you,” she said. “So, making sure that you’re taking time to get outside to go ground yourself, maybe put your feet in the grass. And having that support system is huge.”
Fans said they hope viewers keep things positive, but they’ll keep watching for the on-screen drama.
“It’s the mess! I love it,” said a fan of the show, Tomethel York. “It’s like every time you guys get on TV and you think you’re going to fall in love? Ok, sure.”
“I hope to see something juicy tonight,” said Marissa Holmes about the reunion. “I want the gos!”
