A winter weather advisory remains in effect for the Coast Range until early Sunday morning.

PORTLAND, Oregon — I know it’s March, but it’s still winter, and it’s going to feel like it the next several days. Cold air is going to continue to funnel down from the Gulf Alaska dropping snow levels down to about 500 feet Saturday night and into Sunday morning. The valley floor isn’t going to see any accumulation. The west hills above downtown could see up to a 1″ overnight.

We’ll see showers throughout the day on Sunday with a chance to see thunderstorms by the late morning and afternoon. We’ll see daytime highs around the low to mid 40s Sunday afternoon.

The coast range is going to be under a winter weather advisory until early Sunday morning 1,000 feet and higher. I’m forecasting 1-3″ of snow overnight and into Sunday morning.

Sticking snow will stay above 1,000 feet, but occasionally snow will stick on cars, decks, and grassy areas from 500 to 1,000 feet. Roads in the metro area should remain just wet, as temperatures stay above freezing overnight and into Sunday morning.

The snow level doesn’t rise above 1,000 feet until late next week.
