Police: Man dead after being shot in Kenton neighborhood; 1 detained

PORTLAND, Oregon — A man is dead after being shot in the Kenton neighborhood, the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) said.
Officers responded to a shooting at a house on North Terry Street at 7:47 p.m. Friday. When officers arrived, they saw evidence of gunfire inside. They then learned that a man, who has not yet been identified, had been shot and was being driven to a hospital.
PBB said the man died despite lifesaving efforts.
Police said that one man has been detained; no other suspects are sought as of Friday evening.
Detectives are responding to the scene to investigate, and North Terry Street is closed between North Emerald Avenue and North Peninsular Avenue.
