Police alert issued after two suspects rob multiple North Side businesses

CHICAGO — The Chicago Police Department has issued a business alert after four strong armed robberies occurred over the past two weeks in North Side.

According to the Chicago Police Department, four strong armed robberies reportedly occurred in the city’s Irving Park, Portage Park, Dunning, and Jefferson Park neighborhoods since Tuesday, Feb. 13.

The following armed robberies occurred at the dates and times listed below:

  • 3500 block of N. Pulaski Road at 5:24 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13
  • 3500 block of N. Cicero at 11:35 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15
  • 6500 block of W. Belmont at 12:23 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 16
  • 5000 block of W. Lawrence at 10:15 pm. on Monday, Feb. 19.

During the incidents, two suspects entered the retail business and robbed the establishment of cigarettes and money before fleeing the scene.

One suspect has been described as a White man, between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-8, and weighing anywhere from 160 to 180 pounds. The other suspect has been described as an African-American man, between 5-foot-10 and 6-feet tall, weighing around 210 to 230 pounds.

Both suspects are believed to be between 20 to 25-years-old.

No further information has been provided at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

The Chicago Police Department want to remind residents if you are confronted by an assailant to remain calm, remember any unique physical characteristics, never pursue a fleeing assailant, and immediately report the incident.
