Child hospitalized after being struck by car in Orange County

A child has been hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle Friday morning in Orange County. According to FHP, the crash happened just before 9 a.m. on Avalon Park Boulevard and Golden Isle Boulevard.Officials say a girl on a scooter was hit by an SUV.The child was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital and is in stable condition. Witnesses say it was horrifying to see.”When I pulled up she was laying on the ground there just past the crosswalk… and it clearly just happened,” Brian Lindsay said. “We all just tried to keep her calm. She had some active bleeding from her head. She was definitely in a lot of pain.”Christopher Laluz told WESH 2 that the driver of the SUV is his wife. “Yeah she’s extremely upset… she had the kids in the car at the time,” he said. “I get it, trust me, I have three kids, so I can imagine being the parent getting that phone call that my kid got hit by a car. I completely understand.”
