Meghan and Harry – Royal Top Dogs – The Royal Pages

Prince Harry and Meghan never fail to surprise!
As an avid royal fan, I knew that 15 September would be quite an important date. Two and a half senior royals were born that day: Queen Letizia of Spain, Prince Daniel of Sweden and Prince Harry. The latter one doesn’t account for being a senior royal anymore ever since his dramatic split from the British royal family last year. Ironically though, Prince Harry was born a senior royal out of the three, in contrast to Letizia and Daniel who married into their respective royal families.
But why am I referring to other royals here, whereas this article is supposed to be about Meghan and Harry? It is to illustrate how Meghan and Harry operate and what singles them out.
Let’s first take a look at Sweden. As it is an annual custom at the Swedish royal court, a new photograph was published on what was Prince Daniel’s 48th birthday to feed the press and the royal tribes. I really do like it, as it mirrors the down-to-earth attitude of the Swedish royals and Prince Daniel in particular. In hindsight, I would say that this photograph had been a mere prelude to what was to come from across the pond from Meghan and Harry in the grand scheme of royal things 🙂
But before we come to that, let’s quickly take a look at our second royal, who celebrated her birthday yesterday: Queen Letizia, who turned 49. Unfortunately, the Spanish court didn’t provide us with any new photographs. But since I believe that Letizia is one of the most stylish, beautiful and intelligent contemporary royals I do need to come up with a picture of her here:

Harry and Meghan
Now to the two royal top dogs – Meghan and Harry! When I looked at my phone yesterday I was quite surprised to see that TIME magazine had dedicated their whole front cover page of their latest issue to Prince Harry and Meghan hailing them as part of the 100 most influential people worldwide!
“There’s a famous TV interview of Harry, the Duke of Sussex, when he was an Apache helicopter gunner a few years ago. He’s sitting close to an airfield in Afghanistan, commenting on some royal news, when there’s a bang and a group of soldiers scramble behind him.
In one swift motion, he stands up, rips off his microphone and runs toward the action.
That same sense of urgency drives Meghan, now the Duchess of Sussex, who has long been an active humanitarian and a powerful advocate for women and girls around the world. “This type of work is what feeds my soul,” she wrote in a 2016 essay. Springing into action is not the easy choice for a young duke and duchess who have been blessed through birth and talent, and burned by fame. It would be much safer to enjoy their good fortune and stay silent.
That’s not what Harry and Meghan do, or who they are. They turn compassion into boots on the ground through their Archewell Foundation. They give voice to the voiceless through media production. Hand in hand with nonprofit partners, they take risks to help communities in need—offering mental-health support to Black women and girls in the U.S., and feeding those affected by natural disasters in India and the Caribbean.
In a world where everyone has an opinion about people they don’t know, the duke and duchess have compassion for the people they don’t know. They don’t just opine. They run toward the struggle.”Andrés is a chef and the founder of World Central Kitchen
More pictures!
And as an extra-special-bonus-treat there are two more new pictures of Meghan and Harry!
Their way
Those photographs come with one or two strong messages here. One is certainly that of triumph! Harry and Meghan wouldn’t fade into oblivion as many would have guessed (or wished). Instead, they are gracing the cover of one of the most renowned magazines in the world.
The other message is that they will continue in what they are doing – together! Note that Meghan and Harry are being every inch of a power couple on these new pictures. They appear as equals, as partners as in item. This cover is a boost to their brand and we can expect to hear and see more of them in the near future!
So far, their split from the royal family hasn’t done them any harm. On the contrary! In the UK they would have been doomed to play second fiddle next to William and Kate. In the US, however, these two are thriving – as they are allowed to do it their way and without any protocol restraints.
