Over 300 flights impacted at DIA after Denver metro snowstorm

DENVER (KDVR) — Denver International Airport saw hundreds of flights impacted by the winter weather that blew through Colorado and the Front Range on Saturday.

Saturday was a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day. Snow was expected to fall on and off throughout the day, causing dangerous travel conditions and low visibility.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, as of 7:00 a.m., planes leaving DIA are being sprayed with deicing fluid to remove snow and ice.

As of 12:30 p.m., 305 flights were delayed and 1 flight was canceled.

Delayed flights by airline

The following airlines had the most delays as of 12:30 p.m.:

  • United Airlines – 110 flights
  • Southwest Airlines – 80 flights
  • SkyWest Airlines – 50 flights
  • CommuteAir – 12 flights
  • Mesa Airlines – 8 flights

Several other airlines had 4 or fewer delays, including Delta Airlines, Frontier Airlines and American Airlines.

Canceled flights by airline

As of 12:30 p.m., only one flight out of DIA, a United Airlines flight to Albuquerque, was canceled.
