Investigation launched after students at Miami Gardens school eat marijuana edibles disguised as candy – Medical Marijuana Program Connection

In a concerning incident at Bunche Park Elementary School in Miami Gardens, a 9-year-old girl was taken to hospital after unknowingly consuming marijuana edibles that resembled popular candy. 

The incident has raised questions about the safety of school environments and the accessibility of such substances to young students.

Reports are that the student ingested what she believed to be Airheads candy during her school day. 

However, the seemingly innocent treat turned out to be a marijuana-infused edible known as “Gas Heads.” 

Several of her classmates also unknowingly consumed these edibles.

Unusual symptoms and concerned father

After consuming the edibles, the girl and other students began experiencing a significant decrease in their energy levels throughout the school day. 

Some even had to visit the nurse’s office due to the unusual symptoms. 

Reports are that the girl’s father noticed a stark change in his daughter’s behavior when he picked her up from school. 

She seemed disoriented and unable to recall basic information, such as her birthday.

Reports are that the child revealed the source of her unusual candy to her father, showing him the Gas Heads edible. 

Upon closer inspection, it became apparent that the packaging of Gas Heads closely resembled the popular sour candy “Airheads Xtreme.”
