United Airlines and electronic air taxi producer Archer Aviation’s first route will be between New York’s Manhattan heliport, located just above Battery Park on Pier 6, and Newark Liberty International Airport, the companies announced Thursday. The companies plan the service to begin in 2025.

The route is the first announced for the electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicle industry, according to Archer, and is part of the company’s broader urban air mobility network plan. Flights are expected to take less than 10 minutes.

United in August paid Archer a $10 million deposit for 100 of the company’s eVTOL aircraft, and the companies plan to announce additional routes, according to Archer.
