London-based Wings Global Travel has hired former Reed & Mackay executive Gary Povey as the travel management company’s chief operating officer.

Povey was EVP of global sales at Reed & Mackay, where he saw business more than double over four years, and will be driving the growth strategy at Wings, reporting to CEO Tony Sofianos, according to the TMC. He also previously had roles at American Express Global Business Travel, Omega World Travel, Traveldoo and InterContinental Hotels Group as part of his three decades in the industry.

Wings specializes in managing travel for investment banking, professional services, energy, marine and industrial clients. It has 20 owned and managed operations in 16 countries and a workforce of about 450.
