WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (KRON) — The Walnut Creek Police Department said that it is investigating a string of burglaries that struck nine businesses across two shopping centers Tuesday.

WCPD said its officers responded at 4:15 a.m. to a commercial alarm at the San Miguel Shopping Center and found several businesses had been burglarized. While investigating at the scene, officers were dispatched to another alarm at the Countrywood Shopping Center.
“There, they located additional businesses that also showed signs of forced entry,” said WCPD in a social media post on Wednesday.
Walnut Creek police told KRON4 News that they do believe the two shopping center incidents are connected. Police are actively investigating the case and following up on leads to identify the three suspects allegedly involved.
WCPD added they are doing extra patrols in the shopping centers and nearby business areas.
