SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif — Seven people were hospitalized following a crash in Sacramento County Saturday morning, according to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.
The district said the crash was reported near Ione and Claypit Roads just after 10 a.m. Arriving fire crews found two vehicles, both with “significant front-end damage.”
All seven people injured were treated on the scene by emergency crews and have been taken to the hospital. Officials said one person had to be taken by air ambulance due to the severity of their injuries – the condition of the others involved is unknown.
Ione Road is closed while the California Highway Patrol investigates the cause of the crash.
