Drivers are asked to follow police direction and expect delays in the area.

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. — A crash involving five cars on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (MD-295) heading northbound at US-50 in Prince George’s County slowed the morning commute on a rainy Tuesday morning. By 6:30 a.m., traffic officials reported all lanes were open to traffic and delays were dissipating.

Police were first called to the crash scene just after 6 a.m. Traffic officials say at least one person is hurt, but did not report the nature or severity of those injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

There is also a crash on US-50 eastbound at MD-704 at Exit 8. Lanes are open but the ramp at MD-704 is blocked as of 7 a.m. At around 5 a.m. Tuesday, a tractor trailer crashed. Police did not say how the crash happened or if there were any reported injuries.

Clean up and recovery is currently ongoing and US-50 eastbound lanes are open but authorities expect the ramp to have an extended closure.
