SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KTXL) – Who is ready to light the beam?
The Sacramento Kings begin training camp on Tuesday. On Monday, they held their annual media day.
They answered a lot of questions about everything that happened last season, which included head coach Mike Brown getting fired and star guard De’Aaron Fox getting traded.
“Call it what it was last year, just internally was a (bleep) show,” said Kings forward DeMar DeRozan, a 17-year NBA veteran. “And this time around, we got a chance to make right of the wrongs that kind of happened.”
It all starts now.
One of the new faces on this year’s team is point guard Dennis Schroder, fresh off of winning MVP of EuroBasket 2025 with Team Germany.
“There is an aggressiveness that I would like to play with, and that tone is set by our point guard,” said Kings head coach Doug Christie.
“It’s a part of my game. I always try to do the right things for the team,” said Schroder, who spent last season with Brooklyn, Golden State and Detroit. “Defensively, I think we can pick it up another level. That’s why I’m here.”
Adds DeRozan, “give the fans and this organization what I came here to do, and that’s to win.”
