2 left in critical condition following separate shootings on Southwest and Far South Sides

Two victims are in critical condition after being shot overnight in separate shootings on the Southwest and Far South Sides, Chicago police said.

Thw latest shooting happened about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 5800 block of South Kedzie Avenue in the Gage Park neighborhood. Police said a 24-year-old man was in a vehicle when he was shot multiple times to the left side of his body. He was taken in critical condition to UChicago Medicine.

About 2 a.m. Tuesday, an unidentified man was discovered in an alley with a gunshot wound to the chest in the 9600 block of South Avenue M. in the East Side neighborhood, police said.

The victim was taken to UChicago Medicine where he was listed in critical condition.

No one was in custody for either shooting, and detectives were investigating.
