AURORA, Ill. — Two people killed in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate-88 near Mitchell Road in North Aurora on Saturday night have been identified, according to authorities.
The crash claimed the lives of 32-year-old Diego Nava Torres of Chicago and 33-year-old Samantha Ortiz, also of Chicago, according to the Kane County Coroner’s Office.
The crash occurred on I-88 westbound near milepost 118 just after 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25.
Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
Two lanes of traffic were closed following the crash but have since reopened, ISP says.
