Only an hour from Greenville are tiny cabins on the shores of Lake Hartwell at the Big Water Marina Campground. There are glamping tents plus riverfront luxury cabins. This place is less than an hour from Tryon, NC, where you get drive through the amazing Shadrack’s holiday light display.
We’d also recommend Sky Ridge Yurts in Bryson City, NC for a fantastic overnight getaway or weekend away. The yurts are super comfortable and have beautiful views of the Smokies.
We also love Winchester Creek Farm in Waynesville, NC, an alpaca farm in the shadows of the Smoky Mountains. They have rentals right on the farm so you can enjoy coffee and watch the alpacas plus take a tour of the farm and learn all the cool stuff about the animals there. They have several holiday events for you to enjoy.
Lastly, if you want to go south, head to Athens, GA and take a romantic stroll through Winter Wonderlights (November 23, 2022 – January 8, 2023) at the State Botanical Garden. Get hot chocolate and cozy up with your loved one. Bonus: the Georgia Center Hotel is offering two packages for Winter WonderLights.
