Two vehicles crashed on westbound I-80, east of Redwood Street, leaving a man dead and sending two others to the hospital, per the CHP.
VALLEJO, Calif. — A man is dead and Interstate 80 lanes were temporarily closed after two vehicles crashed Sunday morning in Vallejo, authorities said.
Around 8 a.m., a white Honda Accord and a blue Toyota Prius were involved in the crash along westbound Interstate 80, east of Redwood Street, that left the man dead and sent two others to the hospital, per the California Highway Patrol.
Officials said the man who died, described as a Hispanic man in his 30s, drove the Honda. His passenger was reportedly taken to the hospital with major injuries.
The Prius driver was taken to the hospital with a complaint of pain; the CHP said it was precautionary.
Lanes were closed for a crash investigation, but they reopened just before 9:30 a.m.
